Completing a new work!

“Biosphere”  Watercolor/Cut Paper Assemblage   25″ x 25″

Above is a detail of a piece I will finish today. It is so exciting to see a new work almost complete. Very detailed, this one took a few months to get to this stage. Next this sculptural cut paper assemblage will be photographed and matted with a deep frame to allow for the depth.

My First Blog

This is my first official blog, ever. I have built my own website for years but everything I learned is now obsolete. Once again I am starting from scratch and this is proving to be huge. After taking a deep breath, I just totally dismantled my previous website which had taken years to design. I am looking ahead; change is good. My first thought was to leave the look of this new site whistle clean until perfect and I actually think I know a way to do that. I could put up a sign like “pardon my dust” or “excuse this mess”, but I am an artist and this is a creative process so what fun would that be?

You will notice things are not perfect here by a long shot. I am in a thick cloud of “dust” and my head is spinning in a “mess” of widgets and plugins. Last night I wondered if I really needed a website after all! This morning I am hopeful to learn how to add those magic buttons that will display a slideshow or reveal a newsletter. Today I explore the concept of a blog. Tomorrow, adding that slideshow will make me extremely happy. So if you happen onto my website during this moment in time, welcome to the brainstorming event and please wish me luck in this brave new world.
