About the Author, Susan Cerulean:<\/b><\/span><\/div>\n
This writer, naturalist, and activist divides her time between Tallahassee and Indian Pass. She’s no stranger to the Apalachicola Estuary. Her book <\/span><\/span>\u201cComing to Pass: Florida\u2019s Coastal Islands in a Gulf of Change\u201d <\/span>reveals<\/span> this environmental writer is drawn to the Gulf coast <\/span>and the endangered life <\/span>that defines it. <\/span>She has been a familiar local voice encouraging awareness and stewardship. Hosted by the Dixie Theatre after its release, Cerulean spoke in Apalachicola about her ambitious collaborative project, <\/span><\/span>UnspOILed: Writers Speak for Florida’s Coast<\/i>, coedited with Janisse Ray and A. James Wohlpart.<\/span> Her many books include <\/span>Between Two Rivers: Stories from the Red Hills to the Gulf<\/i>, coedited with Janisse Ray and Laura Newton. <\/span>Tracking Desire: A Journey after Swallow-tailed Kites<\/i> was named an Editors’ Choice title by Audubon magazine.<\/span> <\/span>More about this talented writer and her upcoming events are found on her website: <\/span>https:\/\/comingtopass.com\/<\/a>. <\/span><\/div>\n

We are so proud to feature the creative works of artist Robin Renee Hix once again, albeit this time, virtually. Last July, Robin enjoyed a very successful exhibition at JOBA Studio; her colorful works now live in many local homes. She has been very productive since our Apalachicola showing, creating a brand new body of work.<\/p>\n

This creative artist spends hours in her Texas studio darkroom where she develops her own black and white photographs to later meticulously hand paint. A talented colorist with a unique style, her works continue to win awards and earn respect from art patrons. Some images and the short video presented below were taken last July and some will give you a peek of new works. Though our gallery remains closed until we feel it is best to reopen, JOBA is still very much alive and on your screen now to continue our creative journey. We are very proud to announce July\u2019s featured artist: Robin Renee Hix!<\/strong><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
