August through November, 2012.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It was very serendipitous for Deborah and I to collaborate on this exhibition. Our worlds are very different\u2013Deborah has traveled so much lately outside to far away places\u2013India and now China and I have found a new world hidden away inside a drop of water! <span class=\"collapseomatic \" id=\"id8748\"   title=\"Read More...\"    >Read More...<\/span><span id='swap-id8748'  class='colomat-swap' style='display:none;'>Read Less... <\/span><div id=\"target-id8748\" class=\"collapseomatic_content \">Our lives influence our works in different ways and yet the compatibility we share is very profound.<\/p>\n<p>When the director of the Center, Grace Maloy, invited me to exhibit, she asked if I would like to invite another artist to show with me. The Gadsden Arts Center boasts a dynamic space well designed to showcase sculpture and wall pieces. I immediately thought of Deborah\u2019s work and I held my breath until she said yes.<\/p>\n<p>I have always admired her sculpture;\u00a0once\u00a0when\u00a0our works exhibited next to each other in a group exhibition I was struck by the dialogue; together they\u00a0seemed\u00a0to resonate\u00a0a\u00a0new language. It is\u00a0exciting to now exhibit\u00a0at the Gadsden Arts Center with Deborah\u2019s powerful works.<\/p>\n<p>It is also fitting\u00a0for us to help celebrate this event during the 100 year anniversary of the Bell and Bates building which has been home to the Gadsden Art Center since the year 2000. Along with\u00a0her husband, David Harbaugh,\u00a0she founded and developed\u00a0<em>Art in Gadsden<\/em>,\u00a0the\u00a0annual regional exhibition\u00a0that\u00a0initiated\u00a0a spark\u00a0for what would later\u00a0become\u00a0this\u00a0vital\u00a0community\u00a0art museum.
