Note: Karena brevis (Red Tide) is the smallest bio-forms I have ever tried to photograph. The micrograph below was shot with my microscope’s full magnification capacity: 1600x. Although not a great capture, it was exciting to be able to identify it clearly as K. brevis in the water sample brought to me by Carrie Jones just before opening night:
