Using Florida imagery, I named this series Floridala. To date, I have created 143 cut paper Floridalas; each very different from the other.

Interested in microscopy, I stumbled upon the works of artists from the 1800’s who manipulated diatoms by using a single hair and a microscope to form intricately patterned mandalas and other designs. Thus, the tiniest of artworks were created, viewed with the aid of a microscope. Combining experiences, I am creating circular works based on diatoms discovered in local waters; the Diatomorama Series begins!”
