Applying watercolors in non traditional ways, backgrounds and relief pieces build until they are chalky and vibrant. New works evolve slowly, highly detailed with cutouts and forms sculpted from these painted papers. The subject of my work bridges the narrative and abstract but is always grounded in personal experience. I have been experimenting, using digital images to assemble micrographs collected from water samples. However, the heart of my art exists outside my computer; all cut paper works are original, one of a kind pieces. The cut paper work began in 1989; I have definitely found my voice in this medium”.
