For Immediate Release:

Please join us for this creative exploration connecting art and science. Apalachicola National Estuarine Research Reserve hosts “Art+Science: Works on Exhibit by Beth Appleton” at the Apalachicola Nature Center, from October 23, 2015 – Tuesday, February 23, 2016. This exhibit is a visual journey presenting the microscopic world as an important dynamic of our estuary. It showcases Appleton’s discoveries expressed as microphotography, cut paper works, videos and digital assemblages. “Mysteriously beautiful, I have learned that diatoms are so much more; they are vital to our health, the waters surrounding us and the world beyond,” said Beth Appleton. “This exploration has led me to the creative bridge between art and science.”

The public is also invited to an opening reception on Friday, October 23, 2015, 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. The exhibition can be viewed, free of charge, in the Nature Center during normal business hours Tuesday – Saturday, 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.  through February 23, 2016. For additional information call (850) 670-7700.
